CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s golf team heads to a familiar site this week when the Cavaliers play in the 16th annual Linger Longer Invitational at the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee. The tournament runs March 12-14 with 18 holes contested each day. Teams will tee off starting at 8:30 a.m. from the first and 10th tees each day.

UVA played in the event four consecutive seasons from 2016 to 2019 with a best finish of second in 2017.

UVA’s lineup for the tournament includes seniors WeiWei Gao (Cebu, Philippines) and Jimmie Massie (Lynchburg, Va.), sophomores Pietro Bovari (Milano, Italy) and Chris Fosdick (Middlefield, Conn.) and freshman George Duangmanee (Fairfax, Va.). In his first competition of the season, junior Jack Montague (Manakin-Sabot, Va.) will compete as an individual.

Duangmanee has led UVA in scoring in the Cavaliers’ last two team outings with top-15 finishes at the Timuquana Collegiate and the Wake Forest Invitational at Pinehurst No. 2. He currently leads the team with a 72.58 stroke average.

The tournament’s field features Augusta, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, High Point, Kennesaw State, Louisiana Tech, Mercer, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, North Alabama, Toledo and Troy.
