CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia field hockey sophomore midfielder Adele Iacobucci (Malvern, Pa.) has been named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week in honors announced on Tuesday (March 23) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Iacobucci scored twice in Virginia’s 5-2 win against in-state foe James Madison on Sunday. Iacobucci’s second goal was a breakaway scored while the Dukes held a two-player-up advantage following back-to-back yellow cards for the Cavaliers and capped the scoring. She ranks second on the team in scoring with six goals and 13 points.
This is the first player of the week honor for Iacobucci and the second weekly honor for a Cavalier this season. Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Henriksen (Falls Church, Va.) was named the Defensive Player of the Week in September.
