CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia field hockey team had fifteen players named to the 2020 NFHCA National Academic Squad. The entire Cavalier team was also honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association with the 2020 NFHCA National Academic Team Award, the 10th-straight year the squad earned that distinction.

The National Academic Squad program honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year.

Senior Rachel Robinson (Mount Joy, Pa.) and redshirt junior Lauren Hausheer (West Windsor, N.J.) earned the honor for the fourth time in their careers.

Freshmen Mary VanLoh (Houston, Texas) and Anneloes Knol (Utrecht, Netherlands) were further honored by being named Scholars of Distinction which recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year.

The National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
