Ezechiels, Robinson Named NFHCA All-Americans
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia field hockey defenders senior Rachel Robinson (Mount Joy, Pa.) and junior Amber Ezechiels (Niew Vennep, Netherlands) were named to 2020 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-America teams, as announced on Tuesday (Feb. 15) by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Robinson was named to the third team while Ezechiels earned second-team honors.
Robinson and Ezechiels anchored a defensive unit that logged three shutouts this season. Ezechiels was a key element of Virginia’s attack on penalty corners, scoring three goals with nine assists to rank third on the team in points. Her nine assists led the conference. Both were named to the All-ACC first team.
This is the second year that both players have been named to the All-America teams with Robinson earning a spot on the first team in 2019 and Ezechiels on the second.
These are the 57th and 58th All-American honors earned by Cavaliers and the 15th-consecutive year that at least one Virginia player has been named to an All-American team.
