CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia freshman golfer George Duangmanee (Fairfax, Va.) has been named to the 2021 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) University Division Rookie of the Year today (July 1). He was also named a second-team all-state selection along with sophomore teammate Pietro Bovari (Milano, Italy).
Duangmanee played in all eight tournaments during the 2021 season and was second on the squad with a 72.92 stroke average. He also led the team in scoring three times during the season, topped by a fourth-place finish at the Timuquana Collegiate event.
Bovari led UVA in stroke average this season (72.43) and was the team’s top finisher in three tournaments, including the NCAA Kingston Spring Regional where he placed eighth.
