CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s lacrosse team will compete in two exhibition games against the U.S. and Canadian national teams at this year’s USA Lacrosse Fall Classic. Both games will take place on Saturday, Oct. 16 at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland.

“We are grateful for the invitation to participate at this year’s USA Lacrosse Fall Classic,” said Virginia Head Coach Lars Tiffany, who is entering his sixth season at UVA. “This is a unique opportunity for our team to compete against the best lacrosse players in the world and we look forward to the challenge.”

Both the U.S. and Canadian national teams have alternated gold-medal finishes at World Lacrosse events since 2002 with the U.S. winning in 2002, 2010 and 2018 and Canada winning in 2006 and 2014. The next men’s world championship is set for 2023 in Southern California.

Ticket sales and a full schedule for the USA Lacrosse Fall Classic are scheduled to go on sale the week of Sept. 13.
