CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 20 Virginia men’s golf team plays its second event of the season this weekend when the Cavaliers participate in the 15th Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate tournament Friday through Sunday at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta. The tournament will be played exclusively on the 7,092-yard, par 72 Lakeside Course, 18 holes each day Friday through Sunday. Competition begins at 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The 15-team field includes 10 of the nation’s top 50 teams, according to the most recent rankings by Golfstat and the Golfweek/Sagarin Index. The complete field with Golfstat and Sagarin ranking in parentheses – Georgia Tech (13/15), Clemson (27/32), Colorado State, Duke, East Tennessee State (19/20), Pepperdine (17/11), Southern California, Stanford (4/4), Tennessee (21/17), Texas A&M (9/7), TCU (51/38), UCLA, Virginia (20/24) and Wake Forest (16/13).

UVA will field the same lineup that tied for first at the Hamptons Intercollegiate. That group includes sophomore George Duangmanee, sophomore Chris Fosdick, senior Sam Jung, junior Pietro Bovari and freshman Deven Patel.

Fosdick won the Hamptons Intercollegiate and is currently the top-ranked golfer in the latest Golfstat poll.

UVA will be paired with Colorado State and TCU during Friday’s opening round.
