CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia’s Leo Afonso and Asparuh Slavov both were selected to All-ACC Men’s Soccer honors, the league announced on Wednesday (Nov. 10).

Afonso was selected to the All-ACC Second Team and Slavov was an All-Freshman Team selection.

Afonso led Virginia with eight goals and two assists for 18 points. Afonso is third in the ACC in shots per game (3.27), fourth in goals per game (0.53) and eighth in points (18) and points per game (1.20). The forward scored his first career brace in Virginia’s 2-1 win over Boston College. He scored a goal in five of UVA’s last six games.

Slavov started all 17 games he appeared in at midfield for the Cavaliers. The Alpharetta, Ga., native scored his first career goal at Virginia Tech and recorded his first career assist at Notre Dame. A steady presence for Virginia all season, he was fourth on the team in minutes played (1496).
