Virginia junior Aly Hussein (Cairo, Egypt) has been named the CSA Men’s Squash Player of the Month for November as announced today (Dec. 6) by the College Squash Association.

In a new initiative from the governing body of collegiate squash, one women’s player and one men’s player will be highlighted for their accomplishments on court during each month of the season.

Hussein has come flying out of the gates this season, eager to solidify his standing as one of the top players in men’s college squash this year. Virginia’s early-season schedule presented a gauntlet of experienced opponents, but Hussein was up to the challenge, compiling a 5-1 record at the #1 position in the lineup. Statement wins against Princeton, Cornell (a 3-2 comeback to earn the match clinching team point), Columbia, and Yale have helped lead Virginia to the No. 8 ranking so far this season.

Fellow Cavalier senior Emma Jinks was named the Women’s Player of the Month.
