No. 9 Virginia Closes Out Regular Season with Victory Over Dickinson

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 9 Virginia men’s squash team (9-5) improved to 6-0 at home after a 9-0 sweep of Dickinson (3-9) in the team’s final regular season match at the McArthur Squash Center on Sunday afternoon.

The match began with Virginia’s Omar El Torkey cruising to an 11-3, 11-0, 11-0 win over Omar Ali for his tenth victory of the season to put the Cavaliers up 1-0.

The clinching point for the Hoos came from Teddy Durfee over Dickinson’s Benjamin Gemma in a decisive match (11-1, 11-3, 11-0). In just his third match of the season, Durfee remained undefeated with the dominant performance.

In his final home match for Virginia, Will Holey earned a victory for his team as he took down Dickinson’s Aidan Ray in three games (11-6, 11-2, 11-4) to improve his win-streak to three matches.
