CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia field hockey team had eighteen players named to the 2021 NFHCA National Academic Squad. The entire Cavalier team was also honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches’ Association with the 2021 NFHCA National Academic Team Award, the 11th-straight year the squad earned that distinction.

The National Academic Squad program honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year.

Lauren Hausheer earned the honor for the fifth time in her career. Rachel Robinson and Taylor Henriksen earned their fourth career honors.

Henriksen and Mary VanLoh were further honored by being named Scholars of Distinction which recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year.

The National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
