CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 6 Virginia women’s golf team heads to the west coast for this week’s action. The Cavaliers are part of the 16-team field at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge taking place at Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. The three-day competition features start times at 9 a.m. PT on Sunday and Monday and an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.

The field includes host school Ohio State, Arizona, Arizona State, Auburn, Baylor, California, Duke, Georgetown, Kent State, Oregon, Pepperdine, Texas, USC, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.

The Cavaliers’ lineup will consist of graduate student Beth Lillie, juniors Riley Smyth and Celeste Valinho, sophomore Jennifer Cleary and freshman Amanda Sambach. The Cavaliers will be paired with Oregon, Baylor and Pepperdine. Those teams will tee off starting at 9 a.m. PT from the 10th tee.

Virginia was the runner-up at the Moon Golf Invitational in the team’s last event that took place Feb. 20-22. Lillie shot 209 to be the runner-up at the event.
