CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 7 Virginia women’s heads west for its second consecutive tournament, this time to Phoenix to compete in the PING/ASU Invitational. The three-day event takes place March 25-27 at Papago Golf Club.

The field includes No. 8 Arizona State, No. 25 Arizona, No. 19 Baylor, Colorado, Denver, Harvard, No. 10 Michigan, New Mexico, No. 45 Northwestern, No. 2 Oregon, No. 36 Oregon State, San Diego State, No. 1 Stanford, No. 15 UCLA and No. 40 Washington.

The Cavaliers’ lineup for the tournament features graduate student Beth Lillie, senior Riley Smyth, sophomores Jennifer Cleary and Rebecca Skoler and freshman Amanda Sambach. In the current Golfstat standings, Cleary is ranked No. 34, Lillie No. 51 and Sambach is No. 53. Cleary leads the team with a 72.39 stroke average and has posted four top-10 finishes this season.

Virginia will tee off starting at 8:50 a.m. MT while paired with Oregon State, Colorado and San Diego State

UVA is coming off a third-place showing at the Northrop Grumman Challenge. Lillie placed second at 8-under 208. It was her second consecutive runner-up showing after placing second at the Moon Golf Invitational.
