CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 16 Virginia women’s lacrosse team (5-6, 1-3 ACC) returns to ACC play on the road at Louisville (5-5, 1-3 ACC) on Saturday, March 25, for a noon opening draw at UofL Lacrosse Stadium.

  • Saturday will be the eighth meeting between Virginia and Louisville.
  • UVA has a 7-0 record against the Cardinals and is 3-0 at Louisville.
  • The series started in 2015 when Louisville joined the ACC.
  • The Cavaliers edged the Cardinals in the 2021 meeting, 13-12.


  • Virginia is second in the ACC and third in the NCAA in draw controls per game with 19.09.
  • UVA is fourth in the ACC in free position percentage (.494) and fourth in shots per game (34.55).
  • UVA is averaging 15.64 goals per game, while holding opponents to 13.36 goals per game.
  • Sophomore Aubrey Williams is second in the ACC and seventh nationally with 8.45 draw controls per game. Williams currently has 93 on the season and needs just five more to pass Maggie Jackson and Brittany Kalkstein for the single-season record.
  • Freshman Rachel Clark is third in the ACC and sixth in the NCAA in goals (39) and senior Ashlyn McGovern is fifth in the ACC and 11th nationally (36).
  • Sophomore Morgan Schwab is sixth in the ACC with 18 assists.
  • Junior goalkeeper Ashley Vernon is second in the ACC with 82 saves.


UVA will travel to Duke on Saturday, April 2 for a 1 p.m. contest in Durham, N.C.
