CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Redshirt senior Ashlyn McGovern and sophomore Aubrey Williams earned IWLCA All-American honors, the organization announced on Thursday (May 26).

Both McGovern and Williams were selected to the third team. The pair, along with freshman Rachel Clark, were selected as honorable mention All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse.

McGovern, a first team All-ACC selection, scored 63 goals this season. The attacker had multiple goals in 17 contests and scored at least one goal in 19 games this season. She had a goal streak of 28 games dating back to the 2021 season before it ended in UVA’s final game of the 2022 season. McGovern recorded 14 hat tricks, including one in seven of the last eight games UVA played. She finished the season second in the ACC in free position goals per game (1.00), sixth in goals per game (3.15) and 15th in points per game (3.55).

Williams served as UVA’s draw specialist during the 2022 season. She set the single season record for draw controls as a Cavalier with 149, eclipsing the previous record of 97 in the 12th game of the season. Williams ranked third in the ACC and 10th in the NCAA with 7.45 draw controls per game. She grabbed double-digit draw controls in six games, including a career-high 15 in UVA’s win over Stanford.

Clark was the ACC Freshman of the Year after setting a UVA freshman record with 64 goals in 2022. The attacker led the Cavaliers with 75 points on the season. She was the lone player to earn All-ACC Second Team honors as well as All-Freshman Team honors. Clark recorded multiple goals in 16 contests with 14 of those being hat tricks. She scored multiple goals in six of UVA’s last seven games. She ranked second in the ACC in free position percentage (.615), fourth in goals per game (3.20) and 10th in points per game (3.75).
