CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia men’s golfers Pietro Bovari and George Duangmanee were named to the 2022 Men’s Golf All-ACC Academic Team today (June 13). Both players were recognized for their on-course and in-classroom success for the second consecutive year.

Bovari, a junior from Milano, Italy, led UVA in stroke average this season (71.06) and was the team’s top finisher in six tournaments, including the ACC Championships and NCAA New Haven Regional. During the season he posted five top-10 results and shot par or better in 22 of 33 rounds.

Duangmanee, a sophomore from Fairfax, Va., was second on the UVA roster in stroke average at 72.08. He had four top-10 results and was the Cavaliers’ top finisher in three tournaments. He posted nine rounds in the 60s, equaling the best mark on the team with Bovari in that statistic. He finished third at Virginia’s inaugural Lewis Chitengwa Memorial to help lead the Cavaliers to the team title.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
