CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Former Virginia standout Heidi Long (Class of 2019) captured a gold medal for Great Britain on Sunday (July 10) at the 2022 World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Long and the Great Britain women’s four posted a world-best time of 6:18.64 to top runner-up Romania (6:24.65).

UVA alum Morgan Rosts (Class of 2018) helped Canada (6:08.09) to a silver medal in the women’s eight. Australia won the event with a time of 6:06.51.

Cavalier senior Leia Till placed sixth with partner Maya Meschkuleit in the women’s pair for Canada.

“It is really awesome to see Heidi win gold in a world-best time, Morgan’s silver and Leia making the final as an undergrad!” Virginia head coach Kevin Sauer said.
