CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia senior midfielder Adele Iacobucci (Malvern, Pa.) has been named to the 2022 Preseason All-ACC Field Hockey Team in honors announced Monday (Aug. 22) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Virginia has also been voted to finish fourth in the predicted order of finish as voted by the league’s seven head coaches.

Iacobucci is a two-time first-team All-Region honoree, including earning the accolade last season. She enters her senior campaign with 29 career points on 12 goals and five assists.

The Cavaliers advanced to the ACC Championship match last season before suffering a 1-0 loss against North Carolina in the final.

ACC teams open regular-season play Friday with a packed non-conference slate that includes four ACC-Big Ten matchups – Virginia at Penn State, Duke at Rutgers, North Carolina versus Michigan at Wake Forest’s Kentner Stadium and Iowa at Wake Forest.

The first conference games are set for Friday, Sept. 16 when Virginia plays at Boston College.

Duke is slated to host this year’s ACC Championship on Nov. 1-2 and 4 at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium.

The ACC leads all conferences with 21 NCAA field hockey titles. The conference has placed at least one team in the national championship game in 29 of the past 33 seasons, including three consecutive recent NCAA titles by North Carolina (2018-2020).
