Virginia Earns No. 3 Seed in ACC Championship
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia field hockey team will be the No. 3 seed in the 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, being held Nov. 1-4 at Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium in Durham, N.C.
The Cavaliers (11-6, 3-3 ACC) will face 6-seed Louisville (12-6, 1-5 ACC) on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. in the third match of the opening day. The winner of that game will advance to play either 2-seed Wake Forest (14-4, 5-1 ACC) or host Duke (7-10, 0-6 ACC) on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 3:30 p.m. The championship match is set for Friday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m.
All of the tournament games will air on the ACC Network and stream online on ACCNX.
Virginia finished in a three-way tie for third place with Syracuse and Boston College and was awarded the No. 3 seed based on goal differential.
