Women’s Squash Caps Weekend with Win over Williams
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 7 Virginia women’s squash team (3-2) topped Williams College (1-4) on Sunday afternoon to finish the weekend 2-1.
It was the first sweep of the season for the Cavalier women and eight players finished their matches 3-0 in the win.
Meagan Best won 3-0 at the top of the ladder and Emma Jinks added a 3-0 victory at the two position.
Sydney Maxwell dropped the first game but came back to win the next three for a 3-1 victory at the three. Nicolina Tessitore, Maureen Foley, Julia Curran, Eliza Mills and Caroline Pellegrino each won 3-0 at the 4-8 positions, respectively. Erin O’Connor was down 2-1 but rallied to win the last two games 11-3 and 11-0 to win 3-2 at the nine.
