CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Nine Virginia men’s lacrosse players were named 2023 Preseason All-Americans, according to USA Lacrosse Magazine, the organization announced Tuesday (Jan. 10). UVA’s nine honorees led all Division-I programs nationally.

2022 Tewaaraton Award finalist Connor Shellenberger represented the Hoos on the first team, while defenseman Cole Kastner nabbed second-team accolades.

Payton Cormier (A), Griffin Schutz (A), Jeff Conner (M), Thomas McConvey (M), Grayson Sallade (SSDM), Cade Saustad (D) and Petey LaSalla were named to the honorable mention list.

Virginia was tabbed No. 1 in USA Lacrosse Magazine’s preseason poll on Jan. 3.
