CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Graduate student Ashlyn McGovern and sophomore Rachel Clark were named to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America Teams, the organization announced on Friday (Feb. 5).

McGovern is a third team selection after being named an honorable mention Preseason All-American by US Lacrosse Magazine. The attacker scored 63 goals in 2022, with multiple goals in 17 contests. She scored in all but one game to earn IWLCA Third Team All-America honors last season. McGovern recorded 14 hat tricks and finished sixth in the ACC with 3.15 goals per game.

Clark is an honorable mention selection. The attacker returns as the reigning ACC Rookie of the Year from 2022. The Devon, Pa., native scored a UVA freshman record 64 goals to lead the Cavaliers last season. Clark led the Cavaliers with 75 points on the season. She recorded multiple goals in 16 contests with 14 of those being hat tricks. She scored multiple goals in six of UVA’s last seven games. She ranked second in the ACC in free position percentage (.615), fourth in goals per game (3.20) and 10th in points per game (3.75).
