CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia field hockey team had 19 players named to the 2022 NFHCA National Academic Squad. The entire Cavalier team was also honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association with the 2022 NFHCA National Academic Team Award, the 12th-straight year the squad earned that distinction.

The National Academic Squad program honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year.

Adele Iacobucci, Annie McDonough, Laura Janssen and Lindsay Dickinson earned the honor for the fourth time in their careers.

Additionally, three Cavaliers were named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2022-23 year. Junior Mary Vanloh earned the honor for the third time in her career. She was joined by freshmen Sloan Davidson and Lauren Kenah.

The National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
