Cavaliers To Host Virginia Quadrangular Saturday at Lannigan Field
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field program is set to host the first of four home meets as the Virginia Quadrangular kicks off on Saturday (April 1). The Cavaliers will welcome Norfolk State, Saint Francis, and Liberty to Lannigan Field as the events are set to begin at 12 p.m. with the women’s javelin.

Hoos in the Rankings
The initial USTFCCCA Track & Field Ranking Index for the 2023 outdoor season were released on Monday (March 27) as both Cavalier teams found themselves ranked in the nation’s top 15. The Virginia men checked in at No. 6 while the Cavalier women rank No. 12. Additionally, 11 individuals and two relays rank in the nation’s top-25 in their events on the early season.

Home Meets at Virginia
The Virginia Quadrangular is the first of three meets Virginia will host at Lannigan Field this season. The Cavaliers are also set to host the Virginia Grand Prix (April 15) as well as the highly-anticipated Virginia Challenge (April 20-22) which stood out as a national highlight of the 2022 track & field season as the meet produced 139 qualifying marks for the NCAA East Regional Qualifiers. Lannigan Field will also set the scene for the Virginia High Performance (April 30).
On the Horizon:
Virginia will travel to Athens, Georgia to compete in the Spec Towns Invitational on Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8.
