CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The 19th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team will close out the regular-season portion of its schedule this week at NC State’s Wolfpack Match Play on April 3-4 at the Lonnie Pool Golf Course. The tournament precedes the ACC Championships that are set for Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. on April 13-16.

Based on current Golfstat rankings, UVA will be the No. 3 seed and face No. 6 seed North Carolina during the opening round at NC State. The winner will move into the Invitational Bracket and meet the winner of the No. 2 Florida State vs. No. 7 Virginia Tech match. The loser will move to the Consolation Bracket to face the loser of that match.

The other four teams on the opposite side of the bracket are No. 1 South Carolina meeting No. 8 Louisville in the first round and No. 4 Duke facing off against No. 5 NC State in the other matchup.

Play gets underway for the top half of the bracket at 8 a.m. on Monday with UVA and UNC set to start at 8:50 a.m. The semifinals scheduled to begin at approximately 1 p.m. for the upper half of the bracket and at 1:50 p.m. for the Cavaliers. Tuesday’s action also starts at 8 a.m.

UVA’s lineup will include Riley Smyth, Celeste Valinho, Megan Propeck, Rebecca Skoler, Virginia Bossi and Maline Kraus. Substitutions are permitted during the event.

Amanda Sambach and Jennifer Cleary, who played in last week’s Augusta National Women’s Amateur, will not compete in the event.
