CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 12 Virginia women’s lacrosse team (9-4, 4-2 ACC) hosts No. 24 Duke (6-6, 1-5 ACC) on Saturday (April 8) at 2 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium for Senior Day.

IN THE RECORD BOOKS

  • Three players have moved into the UVA Top 10 in career stats this season.
  • Junior Aubrey Williams became the all-time leader in draw controls at UVA, with 304 and counting. Williams surpassed previous record holder Maggie Jackson’s 301 in the win at VCU with her 15 draws. 15 also matches the most ever in a single game at UVA.
  • Graduate student Ashlyn McGovern ranks in the top 10 in both goals and points. She is fifth all-time with 192 goals and 10th all-time with 208 points in her career.
  • Junior Morgan Schwab is sixth all-time with 84 career assists. Schwab has 35 assists this season, second-most by a third year to Lindsay Sheehan’s third-year record of 43 set in 1985.

ACC RANKINGS

  • Virginia is currently tied for fourth in the ACC heading into its last three conference games of the regular season.
  • Along with Duke, UVA will also play No. 7 Boston College and Virginia Tech before the 2023 ACC Tournament.

SENIOR DAY

  • UVA will honor its nine fourth, fifth and sixth years prior to Saturday’s game against Duke.
  • The seniors to be honored include Jaime Biskup, Alex Burtnett, Courtlynne Caskin, Nina Garfinkel, Ashlyn McGovern, Annika Meyer, Taylor Mullen, Kiki Shaw and Darby Welsh.

AGAINST DUKE

  • Virginia and Duke and meeting for the 44th time in series history.
  • UVA owns a 26-17 advantage against the Blue Devils and are 10-8 in games played in Charlottesville.
  • Duke won the most recent meeting, 13-8, in 2022.
