UVA Concludes Action at Ivy Invite
PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 9 Virginia won seven races at the two-day Ivy Invite this weekend on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J.
The Cavaliers’ weekend was highlighted with four wins against No. 10 Penn and No. 16 Rutgers Sunday (April 16). UVA added a pair of wins Sunday against No. 6 Brown and Dartmouth, and one win against No. 4 Princeton and Columbia on Saturday (April 15).
UVA claimed wins against Penn and Rutgers in the Varsity Four, Third Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Four and Third Varsity Four. The Cavaliers topped Brown and Dartmouth in the Third Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Four. In addition, UVA added a win in the Third Varsity Four and Princeton and Columbia.
“It was a challenging weekend of racing against some tough competition from the Ivy League,” Virginia Associate Head Coach Kelsie Chaudoin said. “Our team did a nice job adapting to the changes with the weather on Saturday and the 3V8 and fours had some nice wins, including going 1-2 in the last 2V4 race of the weekend. We’re looking forward to getting back to work in Charlottesville to find more speed in the coming weeks.”
The Cavaliers host top-ranked Texas on Monday, April 24 at Rivanna Reservoir.
