Cavaliers Kick Off Toyota U.S. Open

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Cavan Gormsen finished sixth in the women’s 800-meter freestyle on day one of the Toyota U.S. Open on Wednesday night (Nov. 29) at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Gormsen finished with a time of 8:39.78, hitting the standard for Olympic Trials.

Sophia Knapp also swam in the women’s 800-meter freestyle final, finishing 13th with a time of 8:48.71.

Thursday’s events will consist of the men’s and women 400-meter freestyle, 200-meter IM, and 50-meter freestyle.
