CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia women’s squash freshman Nili Sprecher (Rye, N.Y.) has been named the CSA November Player of the Month as announced Friday (Dec. 8) by the College Squash Association.

Sprecher holds a 6-2 record with wins over Georgetown, Yale, Columbia, Franklin & Marshall, Drexel and Dartmouth. With the Yale match knotted at 4-4, Sprecher took the court with perfect poise, playing with confidence and skill to convert the win for UVA – their first victory over the Yale women in program history.

“She’s only in her first semester, which is usually the most difficult one for our athletes, but she fits seamlessly into the team, both on and off the court, and is doing well academically,” said Virginia head coach Mark Allen. “She works hard at practice, brings a positive attitude and is a very coachable athlete, always receptive to the help and advice she is being given. In just three short months, Nili has already demonstrated that she’s going to be a key player for UVA Women’s Squash – for this year and the three that follow.”
