CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 6 Virginia women’s squash team (6-2, 3-0 MASC) play a pair of weekend matches at the Kline Center in Carlisle, Pa., taking on No. 21 Dickinson (4-5, 1-1 MASC) on Saturday (Jan. 20) at 4 p.m. and No. 28 Denison (3-4) in a neutral-site match there on Sunday (Jan. 21) at 11 a.m.

NOTE: Friday’s home match against Chatham has been postponed due to weather. Makeup date is to be determined

CAVALIER NOTES

  • Virginia moved back to No. 6 in the CSA team rankings
  • This is Virginia’s first match since December 2, a break of 47 days between matches
  • The Cavaliers headed into break with a dominant 8-1 win against No. 11 Dartmouth, their third victory against an Ivy League school this season
  • Saturday’s match against the Red Devils is a MASC contest
  • Freshman Nili Sprecher was named the CSA Player of the Month for November for the hot start to her career. She is tied for the team lead in victories with a 6-2 record
  • Lina Tammam and Olivia Walsh also have 6-2 records. Tammam is 5-2 at position 2 while Walsh has played at two, three and four this season
  • Erin O’Connor is a perfect 2-0 at position 9
  • Maureen Foley has a 5-3 record
  • Prior to this weekend, Virginia has only faced one opponent ranked outside the top 15
  • Virginia is 8-0 against Dickinson and 1-0 against Denison
