Twelve Cavaliers Named to All-ACC Academic Team

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — A total of 12 Virginia men’s soccer players were named to the 2023 All-ACC Academic Men’s Soccer team, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Thursday (Feb. 1).

Axel Ahlander, Will Citron, Albin Gashi, Brendan Lambe, Elias Norris, Aidan O’Connor, Umberto Pelà, Austin Rome, Jack Singer, Parker Sloan, Michael Tsicoulias and Paul Wiese were all honored.

Six Cavaliers including Ahlander, Citron, Gashi, O’Connor, Tsicoulias, and Wiese, received the award for the second consecutive season.

Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.
