UVA in Seventh Place at Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club
GUADALAJARA, Mexico – The No. 23 Virginia women’s golf team opened play at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club and is in seventh place after the opening 27 holes of competition. Florida State leads the 12-team field at 4-over par after the first day.
UVA shot 11-over 299 during the opening round and stands at 6-over for its first nine holes of the second round for an overall total of 17-over par.
After 27 holes. Amanda Sambach leads Virginia with a 1-over score and is tied for seventh place. She shot 1-over 73 during the opening round. Jaclyn LaHa is at 3-over after 27 holes and in 12th place. She match’s Sambach’s opening round total of 73. They were tied for 11th place after the first 18 holes.
Megan Propeck is at 6-over in 28th place, Rebecca Skoler is at 7-over in 35th place and Celeste Valinho is at 11-over par in 55th place. Kiera Bartholomew, playing as an individual, is also in 35th place at 7-over.
Play resumes Saturday at 8 a.m. CT. The field will be repaired for the final 27 holes based on the opening 27 holes of play.
