Virginia Earns NFHCA Academic Honors
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia field hockey team was honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association with the 2023 NFHCA National Academic Team Award, the 13th-straight year the squad earned that distinction.
Sophomores Sloan Davidson and Lauren Kenah were named NFHCA Scholars of Distinction for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2023-24 year. This is their second straight year earning the honor
Eight Cavaliers were named to the National Academic Squad, which honors undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year.
In addition to Davidson and Kenah, Mia Abello, Jans Croon, Meghen Hengerer, Tyler Kennedy, Anneloes Knol, and Caroline Nemec were named to the National Academic Squad.
The National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
