CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Four members of the Virginia men’s squash team will compete at the 2024 National Collegiate Individual Championships, which will be held March 8-10 at the Arlen Specter Center in Philadelphia, Pa.

HOW TO FOLLOW

NOTES ON THE TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE

  • Two rounds will be contested on Friday
  • Each bracket is comprised of 16 players
  • Players who lose in the opening round will fall into a consolation bracket
  • Semifinal matches will be played on Saturday with finals on Sunday

POOL TROPHY

  • Senior Taha Dinana will be competing in the Pool Trophy bracket, the top draw of the tournament
  • Dinana opens play on Friday at 12:45 p.m., facing Siow Yee Xian of Yale
  • This is his first time competing in the top draw of the national championship. He played in the Molloy Cup in 2022

MOLLOY CUP

  • Juniors Maxwell Velazquez and Petr Nohel and sophomore JP Tew will be competing in the B-Division Molloy Cup brackets
  • Velazquez will play in the south bracket, facing Aaron Liang of Cornell on Friday at 11:15 a.m.
  • This is his first time competing at the national championship
  • Nohel will play in the west bracket and face Omar Ali of Dickinson on Friday at 12 p.m.
  • This is his third-straight year competing in the Molloy Cup. He went in 2022 and 2023 while attending Franklin & Marshall
  • Tew will compete in the east bracket, taking on Samuel Lovejoy of Connecticut College on Friday at 12:45 p.m.
  • This is his second straight year competing at the Molloy Cup. He made the semifinals of his bracket last year
