GREENSBORO, Ga. – The No. 13 Virginia men’s golf team is in second place after the opening round of the Linger Longer Invitational at Great Waters Golf Course at Reynolds Plantation. The Cavaliers shot 12-under 276 and are nine shots behind Alabama.

UVA had three golfers in the top-10 after the opening round. Bryan Lee was in fourth place at 4-under 68 while Deven Patel and Ben James were tied for sixth place at 69. Paul Chang was in 17th position with a round of 2-under 70 while Josh Duangmanee was 33rd after shooting 75.

George Duangmanee, who is competing as an individual, was also tied for 17th place with a score of 2-under 70.

Alabama’s Jonathan Griz leads the field after firing 10-under 62.

Virginia will be paired with Alabama and Georgia during Monday’s second round. Those teams tee off starting at 9:51 a.m. from the first tee. Live scoring is online at Golfstat.com.
