CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia women’s squash senior Meagan Best has been named the 2023-24 MASC Women’s Player of the Year in honors announced Tuesday (March 26) by the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference.

This is the second straight year that Best has been named the top player in the conference. She is the only player in program history to earn the accolade on the women’s side.

Best went 13-6 this season, playing against the top talent in the nation. She was one of three finalists for the 2024 CSA Betty Richey Award for exemplifying the ideals of squash in their love of and devotion to the game, strong sense of fairness, excellence in play and leadership, and cooperation with opponents, coaches, and competition officials. Nominees are also praised for their overall contributions to intercollegiate squash.

She helped lead the Cavaliers to earning the top seed in the MASC Championships and anchored the team’s 5-4 win against Drexel in the CSA Championships to advance to the national quarterfinals.
