Eight Cavaliers Named IWLCA All-Region Selections
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced Thursday (May 16) its all-region teams for the 2024 season. Three Cavaliers were named to the south region’s first team while five were second-team selections.
Virginia’s first-team selections include Morgan Schwab (Sr., Attack), Mackezie Hoeg (Sr., Midfield) and Maggie Bostain (Sr., Defense).
Katia Carnevale (Gr., Attack), Kate Galica (Fr., Midfield), Kate Miller (Jr., Attack), Kiki Shaw (Gr., Midfield) and Devon Whitaker (Sr., Defense) were named second-team honorees.
UVA’s eight total selections are the most of any other team in the south region and marks a program high surpassing the team’s previous best of six (2023, 2009, 1997, 1991).
As all-region selections, Virginia’s honorees are eligible to be named to the IWLCA All-American teams. The IWLCA will announce the 2024 Division I All-American teams on May 23.
