EUGENE, Ore. – The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams are set to have 11 individual athletes (eight men, three women) compete at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. The men’s events will take place on Wednesday (June 5) and Friday (June 7) while the women’s competition will be held on Thursday (June 6) and Saturday (June 8).

  • Jacob Lemmon will make his third trip in four years to the NCAA Championships
  • Nate Mountain and Margot Appleton are set to make their second consecutive trip to the championships
  • Virginia has qualified at least one men’s steeplechaser in six of the last eight seasons. This season will feature the duo of Yasin Sado and Mountain.
  • Making her NCAA Outdoors debut, Celia Rifaterra became the first Cavalier to qualify for the outdoor championships in the high jump since Sherry Gauld in 1993.
