CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia rowers Teagan Orth and Paula Lutz will compete in the 2024 U23 World Rowing Championships, held Aug. 18-25 in St. Catharines, Canada.

Orth, a rising senior, will race in the women’s eight for Canada. Lutz, an incoming freshman, will compete in the women’s quadruple sculls for Germany. The pair join former UVA standouts Kate Kelly and Zoe Tekeian, who will compete for the United States in the women’s eight.

Orth was a member of the UVA Varsity Four that placed 13th at the NCAA Championship and second at the ACC Championship in 2024. The two-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree was part of the ACC champion Third Varsity Eight in 2023.

Lutz was a bronze medalist in the double sculls at 2022 U19 World Championships and rowed in the single sculls at the 2023 U23 European Championships.
