Cavaliers Conclude Play at Wahoowa Invitational
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia women’s tennis team competed Friday through Sunday, Oct. 4-6, in the Wahoowa Invitational at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar’s Head Resort.
Eight Cavaliers competed in singles against players from James Madison, Princeton, Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Auburn, going a combined 10-10 in their matches. The doubles teams went a combined 8-3.
Senior Elaine Chervinsky went 3-0 in her singles matches. Freshman Martina Genis Salas finished 2-0 in her singles matches. Chervinsky and senior Melodie Collard were the champions of the doubles flight, finishing a perfect 3-0.

The Cavaliers won three singles matches on Saturday, with Chervinsky, Genis Salas, and Collard winning against opponents from Princeton and Ole Miss. In doubles, Collard and Chervinsky picked up another win, with Larke and Navarro also recording a win.
Sunday, Oct. 6
The Cavaliers won three singles matches on Sunday, with Collard, Chervinsky, and Annabelle Xu picking up wins against opponents from JMU. The Cavaliers swept the doubles, with Collard and Chervinsky winning the doubles championship.
