CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – WINA Radio (AM 1070), the flagship station for University of Virginia athletics, and Cavalier Sports Marketing are proud to offer UVa fans live coverage of 2005 Virginia baseball. This spring, 25 regular season games, including 21 ACC contests, will be broadcast live on WINA in Charlottesville and streamed worldwide on the Internet. The broadcast schedule also includes live postseason coverage of the Cavaliers in the ACC and NCAA Tournaments.

“I am excited about the expanded coverage on WINA Radio for the 2005 season,” said head UVa baseball coach Brian O’Connor. “Radio coverage is a critical part of the Virginia baseball program moving forward into the future. These broadcasts will give UVa baseball fans the opportunity to follow the Cavaliers while at home and on the road.”

“Voice of the Cavaliers” Mac McDonald and WINA Sports Director Jed Williams call the action-packed play-by-play as Virginia builds on its unprecedented success from one year ago. Former Cavalier second baseman Robbie Marvin adds color commentary.

“What’s not to love about Cavalier Baseball?” Williams said. “Brian O’Connor, his staff and players captivated Charlottesville last spring with the most exciting brand of baseball we’ve ever seen at UVa. The enthusiasm for this program grows by leaps and bounds every day. Buckle up for a thrilling ride, and enjoy Virginia Baseball on the radio with us.”

Broadcasts begin 15 minutes prior to first pitch with full pregame coverage and conclude with a comprehensive postgame wrap-up featuring coach and player interviews, analysis, and scores from around the ACC.
