CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–The Virginia rowing team announced its 2015 team awards and honored its graduates at the annual team banquet Tuesday (May 13).

Senior Lizzy Youngling (Westport, Conn.) was honored with the Magruder Dent Oarsmanship Award given to the student-athlete that best exemplifies a Virginia rower, while junior Sam Casto (Dallas, Pa.) was recognized with the Coach’s Award for Excellence.

Senior Lexie Katz (Wayne, Pa.) was named the team’s Most Improved Award, while freshmen Eliza Spilsbury (Centreville, Mass.) and Ellie Stewart (London, England) were honored as the squad’s Rookies of the Year.

The Cavaliers travel to Clemson, S.C., for the ACC Championships on May 15-16. Virginia has captured five consecutive conference titles and has won 14 of the 15 ACC regattas.
