CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia (6-7) returns to the road on Saturday when the Cavaliers head to Georgetown (2-10) to face the Hoyas in a non-conference meeting. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at Cooper Field in Washington, D.C. The Cavaliers are receiving votes in the USILA coaches poll.

Live stats of the game will be available at VirginiaSports.com. There will be a live audio webcast through the Cavaliers Live subscription package at VirginiaSports.com. Luke Neer will bring the play-by-play and Doug Tarring will provide the analysis. CBS Sports Network will televise the game live with Ben Holden bringing the play-by-play and Evan Washburn adding color analysis.

Despite the relative proximity of the two schools, Saturday is only the fourth time UVA and Georgetown have met (although they have scrimmaged regularly in the preseason.) Prior to last year’s meeting at Klöckner Stadium the series had only been played in the NCAA Tournament when UVA won the 2003 and 2006 meetings, both NCAA quarterfinal matchups, en route to NCAA championships for the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers own the all-time series lead with the Hoyas, 3-0. Even though UVA has played preseason scrimmages at Georgetown in the past, most recently in 2013, it will be the Cavaliers first regular season game in Washington, D.C., since a 1941 game against the University Club of Washington.

James Pannell leads UVA with 26 goals and 37 points. Ryan Lukacovic is second on the team with 19 goals and 31 points. Lukacovic and Greg Coholan are tied for the team lead with 12 assists. Zed Williams and Mike D’Amario round out the top goal scorers with 17 and 16, respectively. Matt Barrett is saving 47.3 percent of shots between the pipes and posting a 10.42 goals against average.

Georgetown head coach Kevin Warne is in his fourth season at Georgetown and boasts 29 returning letterwinners and eight starters off of last season’s 10-6 squad that lost to eventual national champion Denver in the BIG EAST championship game. Daniel Bucaro leads the Hoyas with 15 goals, 12 assists and 27 points. Joe Bucci has 13 goals and 20 points. Chris Donovan and Devon Lewis round out the top goal scorers with nine each. Nick Marrocco is saving 50.7 percent of shots between the pipes and posting an 11.52 goals against average.

Virginia returns to action on Sat., April 30 in the ACC – Brown Showcase in Kennesaw, Ga., when the Cavaliers face No. 3 Brown in a neutral site game at Third Bank Stadium. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
