CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia inside linebacker Micah Kiser has been named the ACC Linebacker of the Week for games played through Sept. 16. It is the first weekly accolade for Kiser this season and third of his career. He was last named ACC Linebacker of the Week on Oct. 31, 216. He first was named ACC Linebacker of the Week on Nov. 23, 2015.

Kiser (Baltimore, Md.) recorded a game-high 15 tackles (seven solo), had two quarterback sacks and recovered one fumble at Virginia’s own goal line to help the Cavaliers defeat UConn, 38-18. The two sacks moved Kiser to No. 10 all-time at UVA with 19 career sacks. Kiser has 29 tackles, four sacks and one fumble recovery over UVA’s last two games.

Kiser’s performance against UConn also earned him Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week honors.
