The Cavaliers are riding a four-game win streak, their longest of the season, after downing Pitt 62-50 on Thursday night. The Cavaliers’ victory was the first win for UVA over Pitt since the Panthers joined the ACC, snapping an 0-4 skid. The Cavaliers are looking for their first conference win over the Orange after suffering four losses since Syracuse joined the ACC in 2014.

Sophomore center Felicia Aiyeotan (Lagos, Nigeria) had her third double-double of the season against Pitt with 10 points and 10 rebounds. It was the fourth double-double of her career, but her first against an ACC opponent. Aiyeotan has led the team in rebounding in five of the last six games. She has 107 rebounds this season, ranking seventh in the ACC with her 7.6 rebounds-per-game average ranking 12th.

Sophomore guard Dominique Toussaint (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored a team-high 16 points against Pittsburgh, her highest output since contributing 18 against Maryland (Nov. 29). Toussaint dished a career-high seven assists against Pitt, the highest total this year for a Cavalier in a game. Toussaint has 50 assists already this season and is averaging 5.25 per game in the last four games. She also has a 12-2 (6.0) assist-to-turnover ratio in the last two games.

The Orange, who are receiving votes in the AP poll and ranked No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll, started the season 11-0 before falling 76-65 to Mississippi State in on Dec. 21. Syracuse opened conference play at Notre Dame on Thursday (Dec. 28), falling 87-72. Tiana Mangakahia paced the Orange in points (26), rebounds (nine) and assists (eight). Mangakahia is averaging a double-double (16.7 points, 10.6 assists) per game this year.

Former Cavalier Tammi Reiss is in her third season as an assistant coach at Syracuse. Reiss was a four-year starter for the Cavaliers, earning All-America honors in 1992. She led the squad to three ACC regular-season titles, two league tournament championships, and three Final Four appearances. Reiss earned all-conference honors three times in her career and was twice selected to the All-ACC Tournament Team.

Virginia will head out on the road to play at NC State (12-2, 1-0 ACC) on Thursday, Jan. 4 in Raleigh, N.C., before returning home to host Clemson (10-3, 0-0 ACC) on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena.
