No. 8 Virginia Travels to No. 13 Loyola Maryland

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 8 Virginia women’s lacrosse team (5-1) will be on the road at No. 13 Loyola Maryland (3-2) on Wednesday (March 14) at 6 p.m. at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Md.

CAVALIER TIDBITS

• Virginia is coming off a 13-9 loss to No. 5 North Carolina on Saturday, marking its first loss of the season.
• UVA is averaging 14.67 goals per game, while allowing just 9.17 goals per game.
• The Cavaliers lead the ACC with 20.50 ground balls per game.
• Sophomore Sammy Mueller (Pelham, N.Y.) led the Cavaliers with three goals against the Tar Heels and junior Maggie Jackson (Alexandria, Va.) picked up seven draw controls.

LOYOLA MARYLAND
Loyola has won its last three contests entering Wednesday’s game. The Greyhounds picked up two of those wins last week, defeating Towson 14-13 in triple overtime on Wednesday and Princeton 13-7 on Saturday. Hannah Powers leads the team in points with 19 (8 goals, 11 assists). Taylor VanThof and Frankie Kamely both have a team-high 14 goals. VanThof also leads in draws (32). Kady Glynn has a 13.58 goals against average, with 51 saves this season in goal.

SERIES INFO
Virginia and Loyola are meeting for the 37th time, with UVA leading the series 25-10-1. The two teams met in Charlottesville in 2017, with the Cavaliers taking the 11-7 win. Virginia leads 11-5 in games played in Baltimore. Loyola won the most recent meeting in Baltimore, 7-6.
