CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Senior Kasey Behr (Northport, N.Y.) and sophomore Sammy Mueller (Pelham, N.Y.) were named to the 2018 All-America Teams, the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association announced on Thursday (June 14).

The IWLCA announced that 48 student-athletes were named to the All-America teams. The IWLCA will honor the National All-Americans at the IWLCA All-American Banquet.

Behr is a first team selection after having one of her best seasons as a Cavalier. The All-ACC first team selection finished with a single-season career-high 56 goals, finishing her career ranked seventh all-time at UVA with 153 career goals. Serving as the primary draw specialist, Behr picked up 65 draw controls which is the eighth-most in a single season at UVA. She finished her career with 151 total to rank fourth all-time in draw controls. Behr was second on the team with 25 caused turnovers and added 35 ground balls. She scored multiple goals in 17 contests with hat-tricks in 12 of those. She recorded a career-high five goals against Virginia Tech.

Mueller earned her first All-America honors, being named to the third team. The midfielder lead the Cavaliers with 74 points on 59 goals and 15 assists in 2018. Her 59 goals are tied for ninth all-time in a single season at UVA. Mueller scored multiple goals in a team-high 18 games with 13 hat-tricks. She had four or more points in 11 games and scored a career-high seven points with six goals and one assist at Navy. Mueller finished the season fourth in the ACC with 2.95 goals per game, eighth with 3.70 points per game and eighth with 4.05 draws per game. Mueller made an impact in all aspects of the field, finishing second on the team with 81 draw controls which ranks fifth all-time in a single season. She also added 34 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers.
