Ellis Named ACC Running Back of the Week
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.– Virginia tailback Jordan Ellis has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Running Back of the Week for games played through Sept. 3. This is the first career weekly accolade for Ellis.
Ellis (Sr., Suwanee, Ga.) recorded a career-high 146 yards on 20 carries (7.3 ypc) in the Cavaliers’ 42-13 win over Richmond as UVA rushed for 300 yards (301) for the first time in a game since the 2013 season. Ellis had touchdown runs of 10 and 21 yards and he had the highest grade of any running back from week one according to Pro Football Focus with a score of 91.4.
