CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia women’s basketball senior guard Jocelyn Willoughby (East Orange, N.J.) has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District III Women’s Basketball team for the second straight year, as announced today (Feb. 20) by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
 
The 2019-20 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women’s Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
 
Willoughby, who leads the ACC in scoring (19.6 points per game) and currently ranks 11th in rebounding (7.4 per game), is on the midseason watch list for the WBCA player of the year honor, the Wade Trophy. Willoughby earned her undergraduate degree last may in global development studies and is currently enrolled in the leadership and public policy program at the Batten School.
 
Willoughby joins Heather Burge (1992-93), Dena Evans (1992-93) and Jenny Boucek (1995-96) on the list of Virginia players who have twice earned the prestigious accolade. It is the eighth time overall that a Cavalier has earned the honor.
