CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – While Virginia fans will not have the opportunity to attend Cavalier home games at Scott Stadium at the start of the season due to state-mandated capacity issues, the UVA athletic department debuts a new option to kick off their game day weekends this year.

The new social-media based show “The 4th Side with Ahmad Hawkins” airs this Friday live at  2:30 p.m. Friday simultaneously on Twitter at @UVAFootball and @VirginiaSports and on Facebook on the VirginiaFootball and VirginiaCavaliers accounts.

Former UVA wide receiver Ahmad Hawkins (@IAmBallHawk) serves as the show’s host. Hawkins is no stranger to UVA fans on the media landscape. He handled the interview duties for the Cavalier Football team’s “The Walkthrough” the past few years, has been a regular guest and analyst on local radio and television news programs, has filled in as the sideline commentator on the Virginia Sports Radio network, and hosts his own podcast “The Ball Hawk Show.”

In addition to previewing the Duke game, this week’s show will include segments featuring former Cavalier legend Heath Miller and a look at how UVA football is keeping its Thursdays Heroes program active during a pandemic.

Each episode of “The 4th Side with Ahmad Hawkins” will stream live on Friday afternoons and then be re-distributed on Saturdays prior to kickoff.

Fans can participate via their social media accounts to interact with each week’s special guest and Hawkins.
